Annika’s Stuffed Bell Peppers

6 medium bell peppers
2 lb ground turkey
1 1/2 cups rice, uncooked
3 Tbsp dry chopped onion
1 1/2 cups spaghetti sauce
2 tsp pizza seasoning or Italian seasoning
1 8 oz can tomato sauce (if using crockpot cooking method)


Brown ground turkey.

Cook rice according to package directions, adding dry onions as the rice cooks.

Stir together cooked meat, cooked rice, spaghetti sauce, and seasoning.

Wash bell peppers. Cut off the tops and remove the seeds.

Stuff the peppers with the meat-rice mixture. Place bell peppers in a casserole dish and bake at 350 °F for an hour or until done.

These can also be cooked in the crockpot by placing them in the crockpot, adding an 8 ounce can of tomato sauce, and cooking on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.



Tomato sauce may be used in place of the spaghetti sauce if desired.
