1 cup buckwheat flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg (or replacement, see below)
1 cup milk or other liquid (see below)
2 Tbsp melted margarine or oil
Mix all ingredients, and cook on hot griddle.
Buckwheat does not contain wheat or gluten.
To replace egg, combine 1 Tbsp oil mixed with 1 Tbsp water and 1 tsp baking powder.
Other liquids should work to replace the milk if you want to make this milk-free.
Butter and Margarine: Butter is a dairy product made from cow’s milk. Margarine typically contains milk or soy, but there are milk-free and soy-free versions available.
