Peel and cut up the nectarines and ginger root. Add all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Process until smooth. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
This basting sauce is a refreshing alternative to tomato-based BBQ sauces. It goes well with pork or chicken. The optional white pepper gives it a bit of a bite. Keep some in reserve as a dipping sauce.
If using powdered ginger, reduce amount to 3/4 tsp.
