In a greased 8×8″ glass pan, mix cherries, pineapple and starch. Microwave for two minutes, and then sprinkle cake mix over fruit. Pour melted margarine over that, and then top with almonds if using.
Bake for 40 minutes or until done.
Notes
This was kind of mushy for “cake,” but it’s nice and sweet and gooey.

Substitutions
The Kosher for Passover cake mix is about half the size of a regular cake mix.
To avoid tree nuts, omit almonds.
Butter and Margarine: Butter is a dairy product made from cow’s milk. Margarine typically contains milk or soy, but there are milk-free and soy-free versions available.
Corn Substitutions: Corn is a common ingredient in products. Starch, modified food starch, dextrin and maltodextrin can be from corn.
