Ingredients

1 cup warm water (110 F)
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (not rapid rise)
2 Tbsp white sugar
1/4 cup oil (I use canola)
3 cups bread flour
1 tsp salt

Directions

Place water, sugar and yeast in the bread machine pan, and allow to sit for 10 minutes, so the yeast gets all foamy.

Add remaining ingredients in order listed.

Select basic or white bread setting. I’ve also used the Rapid setting and it’s turned out fine.

Notes

This is a decent tasting, basic white bread recipe. It slices well and is great for sandwiches.

Substitutions

Gluten: Gluten is a protein found in specific grains (wheat, spelt, kamut, barley, rye). Other grains are naturally gluten-free but may have cross-contact with gluten-containing grains.
