as needed corn, potato, or tapioca starch (optional)
Directions
Saute onion and ginger/garlic in oil. Remove from heat and add to mashed potato. Add tuna, tomato paste and salt and pepper to taste and mix the whole thing together. If the mixture does not hold together well, add corn/potato starch/tapioca flour. Shape into 2-inch balls and flatten into patties. Fry in shallow oil until golden. Serve with ketchup in a bun.
Notes
Substitutions
Verify ingredients of canned tuna as some contain dairy, soy, gluten and/or corn.
Corn Substitutions: Corn is a common ingredient in products. Starch, modified food starch, dextrin and maltodextrin can be from corn. Consult with your physician to find out which corn derivatives you need to avoid. Many corn-free options are available in the US. Find out more about corn substitutions.
