1/4 cup Tofutti® Better Than Sour Cream (optional)
safe taco shells of your choice
Directions
On the stove top, brown beef an onion together in the pan. Add cilantro and tomato and cook on low heat for 4-5 minutes longer.
Place meat in safe taco shells (we use Trader Joe’s hard corn taco shells) and top with your favorite safe toppings.
Notes
For topping variations, we have also used steamed rice, Amy’s refried beans and safe salsa (which is Amy’s or Trader Joe’s mild fresh salsa for us). These taco’s are so yummy that the kids ask for them at least once a week which is where the name Taco Tuesday comes from 🙂
Substitutions
This recipe can be soy and corn free if you omit the Tofutti sour cream and use non-corn tortillas (wheat or rice tortillas). Daiya cheese does not contain soy, but does contain pea protein.
This recipe may not be able to be free of all allergens at the same time depending on topping choices and brands. Use whatever works for you.
Milk and Soy Substitutions: Alternative dairy-free milk beverages and products will work in most recipes. Find out more about milk substitutions and soy substitutions.
