Pink Grapefruit Sorbet

2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups fresh grapefruit juice
1 Tbsp finely grated grapefruit zest (optional)


Combine sugar and water in saucepan, bring to boil over medium heat. Reduce heat, simmer until sugar dissolves. Cool completely. (This is your basic bar syrup).

Add juice and zest. Stir. Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.
