1 banana, chunked
1/2 packet plain gelatin powder
1 tsp hot water


Mix the gelatin and water together, and beat with a fork.

Pour into blender, and add the banana chunks.

Mix for 4 times the time it takes to mix the banana. Example: if you puree your banana in 10 seconds, leave the mixer on for 40 seconds.

The mixture will be very thick and gluey. Add to your ice cream to thicken it and make it easier to scoop.


You can use only banana – or only gelatin depending on the final flavor.


Check carefully for the appropriate gelatin for your allergies. Note that standard gelatin is pork or beef derived. Vegan gelatin exists but may contain corn.
