1 lb ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp basil
1 16 oz can whole tomatoes
2 6 oz cans tomato paste
6 no-boil lasagna noodles


Brown meat slowly, then spoon off the fat. Add remaining ingredients, except the noodles. Simmer, uncovered, until thick, about 45 minutes, stirring occassionally.

Place 3 noodles in 13-1/2 by 9 by 2 baking dish. Spread half the meat mixture over the noodles. Repeat with remaining noodles and sauce, making sure the noodles are completely covered by the sauce. Bake uncovered at 375 °F for 30 minutes.

Let stand 10-15 minutes before cutting.
