Recipe Information

Recipe Created By: Naomi And Marc Lavine

Ingredients

regular white bread dough
cinnamon
sugar
raisins

Directions

Make a regular white bread recipe, roll it into a flat circle, and spread with cinnamon, sugar and raisins, then roll up like a jelly roll or babka, and tuck the ends under. It makes a cinnamon swirl bread.

Notes

To make a braided or round challah, just knead the extra ingredients in and then shape as usual.

Substitutions

If you wanted a plainer recipe, that is a bit special, try using olive oil instead of whatever fat you would use, and honey instead of sugar. Also, you can try substituting almost half the white flour with whole-wheat.
Gluten: Gluten is a protein found in specific grains (wheat, spelt, kamut, barley, rye). Other grains are naturally gluten-free but may have cross-contact with gluten-containing grains. Look for certified gluten-free products if you need to avoid gluten. Find out more about wheat and gluten substitutions.
