1/2 cup water
4 pears
1/2 cup rice syrup
2 Tbsp lemon juice or vitamin C crystals
In a small bowl, combine water, rice syrup and Vitamin C crystals. Peel pears and arrange them, whole, in an oven-proof dish. Pour syrup over them and bake at 350 °F for 40 minutes, or until tender.
Rice syrup may be substituted with maple syrup or corn syrup. If avoiding corn, use something other than corn syrup. Check check Vitamin C crystals for corn or use lemon juice.
