Recipe Information
Recipe Created By: Laura Giletti
Ingredients
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup SunButter®
2 cloves garlic
1 Tbsp fresh ginger
5 Tbsp soy or tamari sauce
2 Tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp Tabasco® (optional)
2 Tbsp brown sugar
Directions
Toast sesame seeds in a dry pan until they start to get a bit darker.
You can guesstimate on the ginger and skip doing much chopping.
Toss all into blender until smooth.
Notes
This is excellent on meat and/or noodles (rice noodles as well as wheat). If putting on noodles, add some oil to cooked noodles so they don’t stick.
Freezes very well.
Multiplies well. When making multiple batches remember that 4 Tbsp = 1/4 cup.
Substitutions
Instead of brown sugar you can use golden syrup, molasses or honey.
If you omit Tabasco I suggest adding more garlic to keep spiciness up.
If avoiding wheat/gluten, use wheat-free tamari in place of regular soy sauce.
Peanut Substitutions: There are many peanut-free products available in the US. Find out more about peanut substitutions [1].
