Ingredients

1 1/2 cups margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp water, 1 1/2 Tbsp oil, 1 1/2 Tbsp baking powder -- mixed together
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
colored sugar or sprinkles

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 °F.

With electric mixer, beat margarine until creamy. Add sugar, vanilla, and water/oil/baking powder mixture; beat well. Add flour, 1 cup at a time; mix well. Dough will be soft, do not refrigerate.

Use a cookie press and place dough on baking sheet or stone - decorate with colored sugar or sprinkles.

Bake 10-12 minutes (ovens/cooking time may vary). Transfer to cooling rack when done.

Substitutions

For Chocolate Spritz -- decrease flour to 3 cups. Increase sugar to 1 1/4 cups. Add 1/3 cup dairy-free unsweetened cocoa powder to flour. Proceed as recipe directs.
Butter and Margarine: Butter is a dairy product made from cow’s milk. Margarine typically contains milk or soy, but there are milk-free and soy-free versions available.
